IT'S ALMOST HERE!
I’m not fond of dull, grey December days, but the one thing that keeps most of us going through days like this is the thought of spending Christmas with our nearest and dearest and for me, I look forward to celebrating the birth of Christ.
After we have been to church, we will be spending Christmas day with our older son, his wife, their two teenage children and other family members and we know we will have a 5* meal.
Sadly we won’t see our younger son, who lives in Thailand, but hopefully we will speak to him on the phone - although the time difference can sometimes be a problem, especially when the lines are busy because everyone is trying either to phone home or ring relatives abroad.
Thankfully, we don’t have that problem with God - if we want to speak to Him, we can do it at anytime and wherever we are - the lines are never busy and we never get voicemail or put on hold listening to music that offends our ears.
As a Christian, in spite of all the materialism around, I want to keep Christ in Christmas - this quote from Steve Maraboli tells me how I can do it.
“Want to keep Christ in Christmas?
Feed the hungry,
clothe the naked,
forgive the guilty,
welcome the unwanted,
care for the ill,
love your enemies,
and do unto others
as you would have done unto you.”
Apologies for lack of commenting at the moment, I am having one or two problems with Blip.
