Shark!

Amazing what you can see from our sitting room window. About 7.30 this evening we got a phone call from our neighbours to say there was a basking shark in the bay! It swam about for about three hours, sometimes it was obviously feeding, swimming quite rapidly up and down the bay. The gulls were following it, as were the camera lenses of every man and woman in the village!

Quite stunning to see such a huge beast cruising along, only 100 yards from our front window. While I was standing in the hail showers, freezing half to death, zooming in as far as my little camera can go, a seal popped up right next to the shore and stared at me! By the time I'd focused on him, he'd dived down and swum away. Typical!
