One good tern . . . . !
After the excitement of the basking shark yesterday, today we just have terns. We wondered whether the terns were feeding on what the shark was yesterday. There were dozens of them, flying over the middle of the bay and diving, dropping like paper darts, into the sea. They are known as swallows of the sea, and they arrive about the same time as the swallows do. We don't have any nesting round our house, but there are lots flying around the village and a nest in next door's garage!
The house up on the hill is Roeberry. A wonderful house, with lovely people, and an amazing place to stay - or get married!
After a morning in the craft shop, I spent the afternoon in the greenhouse and the garden. Once you got out the icy wind, it was actually quite warm!
