A suburban sunset

...is more spectacular than in Rio - and lasts much longer!  The rest of the family were settling down inside, lights and heating on, but I had to get out to see this wonder. Winter skies and trees can be so beautiful.

Earlier, we went to our first Christmas party, given by one of the Mums from our grandson's school and her parents. Such a welcoming crowd and brimming over with Christmas spirit. They had heard it was my birthday, and I was treated to a chorus and a mince pie with a smiley candle on top. The warm feeling inside as we left came from much more than the mulled wine.
