The Tree is Decorated
Finally I got round to decorating the tree. After a lazy-ish morning I headed to meet Aideen for a coffee and to get a few bits from the retail park. in particular I wanted some Christmas lights but I was lucky to get one of the last boxes. I shouldn't leave it this late!. I spent the afternoon decorating the tree unfortunately by myself but Joe is working so needs must. I had a lovely time unwrapping all the special decorations that we have collected over the years. They mean the most to us as they are not just pretty but have memories attached to them also. This picture is one of our most recent acquirements. I couldn't believe my eyes that in the middle of July there was a Christmas shop in a little village called Saulsalito just outside San Francisco. We went in and I fell in love with the little golden street car. Just that morning we had ridden on one just like it. The gold and crystal look would match my tree perfectly. It was one expensive decoration but I had to have it. 4 weeks of carrying it round America and it arrived back in the UK safely. It was wrapped up and put away until today and now it has pride of place on my tree. I am off to a carol service in a minute with Ellie and I can't wait for the mice pies afterwards it really is going to finally feel like Christmas is here now the Birthday celebrations are over.
