Party Night
Peggy, well make that Dr. Peggy, graduated yesterday, but this evening everyone in her circle of family and friends partied with her. We were invited to join Dr. Peggy and her hubby Scott at Java Joe's for a celebration.
They treated all of us to a delicious Mexican dinner and then an evening of live music from a variety of their musical friends -- an evening quite similar to Scott's regular Tuesday evening open mic night. The music was terrific and the celebration was joyous.
I missed the moment early in the evening when Peg stepped to the microphone to speak; she spoke only briefly and by the time I got my camera out of my pocket, she had finished . . . photo moment missed. So her beautiful cake with be the photo this evening that savors what these couple of days have been all about.
We have all watched from the sidelines as our dear friend Peg spent the past three years on the fast, and also stressful, track to a Ph.D. in Education. She did it with a grace and finesse that caused each of us to sigh, and everyone to cheer! Her hubby, Scott, referred to her as an "over-achiever," but honestly she is so smooth, so subtle, so calm that no one would title her a "Type A" person. She is quite frankly a "get-er-done person!"
So, CONGRATULATIONS Dr. Peg! Woohoo for YOU and hip hip hooray.
Good night from Southern California.
