world in a grain of sand

swans' nest

Ithaca and I are getting increasingly anxious about our "homework" for the photography composition course, so we went out at lunchtime to find lines around Bodicote. Not satisfied with those lines we also called in at Blenheim on the way home to see if the Duke of Marlborough had any better lines. ( there must be some "as the Duke said to the actress jokes in there!".
I saw this swan on the nest while we were playing about with our cameras, and decided he/ she - I believe they share egg sitting - would make a blip for today.

We were so pleased to see the sun, it's been so long, I think we noticed every shadow. I had my first swim of the year in the (heated) outdoor pool in Woodstock. I was perplexed that none of the people I had come to recognise as regulars last year where there, I'd been expecting the ritual tut that they award to people who only swim on sunny days!
