'The Big Beach', Harris

A thoroughly wet and windy day - which made for great light for taking photos!

The morning was spent on one of the many large white coral sand beaches on Harris. Perfect sand stretching out for as far as the eye could see with some amazing patterns in the sand.

The evening was on the larger of two adjacent beaches, so inspirationally named 'Big Beach'. The weather had really closed in and raining hard by the time we got there, and the wind blowing the rain to near horizontal. There was even a bit of hail in there too I think.

I don't think my camera has ever been as wet. Wiping down the filters before every shot to avoid blurs from water droplets. But the results were great, and made all the unpleasant weather worthwhile. Nice to get back to the hotel for a quick drink before heading off to bed.
