The journey continues...

Taganga

Today was one of Colombia's many holidays! I'm not quite sure what it was for but it meant a day off school and this meant a nice and very much needed lie in until 10.

I went to the police station today to get a report for my purse and didn't realise how close it was so I got an unnecessary taxi. The driver was a really creepy Colombian man who was very difficult to get rid of. You would think going to a police station would make this easier, but no. Even the police officer was pretty creepy himself and not really much use.

I spent the rest of the day by the pool being nice and lazy. The photo of the day today is Kim with the cutest little kitten that chases around the hostel amd miaow's constantly.

Later a few of us went to Taganga, the nearby fishing village. Most people give it really negative reviews but I actually thought it was super cute and pretty, under all the touristyness. We walked along the beach, stopped off at a few shops and found a nice little restaurant on the water's edge for dinner. We decided to share 4 different meals and ordered octopus salad, crabs legs, ceviche and a shrimp and squid dish. It was the first time I tried most of those dishes and I surprised myself, especially with the crab and octopus. But the ceviche was by far the best! We sat chatting for an hour or so at dinner and tried to head back after that although we ended up having to wait a good while on taxis. We had forgotten about the holiday and it seemed that all public transport stopped early but we managed to get a taxi after half an hour or so.

A very unproductive but enjoyable dia libre! :)
