The Early Bird

A quiet day at home today after what has been, by my current standards, a busy week, so it's a kitchen window blip. One of my jobs today was to order more bird food, as the little dears are eating us out of house and home. At present, we are getting lots of visits from coal tits. Unlike the robins and blackbird, these tiny things can only manage one mealworm at a time, so they have to make lots of journeys. Early in this case means as soon as the worms go out. They don't last long.
