No 71: Skylark
Went for a short walk on the moors this morning before a pub lunch, and was talking to my companions about having seen / heard a skylark yesterday. I commented that it was one bird I thought was easier to identify by its flight and song, and to illustrate what I meant about the song, I played it on my iPhone birds app (Chirp). Much to our delight and amazement, we were immediately assailed by a bird flyng round at head height, echoing the app song. It then settled on the heather to pose for this photo. A magical moment!
