Day 8 - Providence

A terrific night's sleep after a long day on Monday, meaning we didn't hit the streets of Providence until late morning. A light breakfast for a change - coffee and a scone - followed by a self guided tour of the state house (yesterday's blip). Almost as good as Vermont's!

Then upto College Hill and a walk around the campus of Brown University (you would think this is the College and State House Tour 2008). Back into downtown and stopped off at Haven Brother's diner - a Providence institution. It's driven into position each day and parks itself right outside City Hall. Apparently some politicians have tried to get rid of it but others frequent it and therefore vote against the moves! Had a hot dog, and it may well have been actual dog....

After miles of walking we crashed the mall very briefly before heading back to the hotel for a few hours rest.
