Blackie

Michigans lower peninsula is bisected by the 45th parallel. One second...you are closest to the Equator, and the next second you are closer to the North Pole. I point that out, because usually us Michiganders have to go above the 45th before you start to see black and gray squirrels.

This little guy was just south of my city. Obviously, he doesn't know about my 45th parallel theory. "Go back up North! We like our fox squirrels!" Actually, I was thrilled to see him. The black sheen of his coat is really pretty.

I just returned from my yearly physical. Peeing in a cup, lights in the ears and eyes, rubber mallet into the knee. etc, etc. I know the ladies have it rough...but...you've never had to stand with your pants around your knees, then being grabbed, and ordered to cough.

Then comes the worst part. "Mr. Welker...can you please turn around and rest your elbows on the bed? "Since you said please...yes...I will." AAAGGHHH! (One of reasons why I chose my new doctor...was that he had small fingers.)

I'm glad that's over until next year. The numbers from my blood work looked pretty good. CO-LEST-ER-ALL just a little high, but he wasn't real concerned.

I'm just traumatized enough to take a little nap before playing volleyball tonight. BUMP, SET, SPIKE...that's what we like!
