Pennine gateway

A peaceful afternoon on Blackstone Edge. The only sounds were a skylark, some curlews and a helicopter. I am not sure what the latter was doing but it clattered around for a while, with what looked like a large shopping bag suspended beneath. I assume it was delivering materials to a project of some sort the other side of the hill to my path.

This contraption always amuses me (little things...) It is a gate but looks like the result of a number of failed attempts. Hollingworth Lake is in the top right of the picture.
