Day 2 - Portland

An awesome (!) nights sleep in our funky four poster, followed by a gourmet breakfast. Walked into the old town of Portland and mooched around the shops and boutiques, before meeting an old friend of Grandmama's for lunch. An enjoyable few hours spent noshing on fresh seafood (lobster for Mrs DP, deep fried scallops and clams for me), before walking it off in the docks area.

Took a ferry across to Peaks Island with the locals to get a sense of perspective. Now back at the inn at 5pm with a glass of iced tea and eating fresh cookies in the lounge. It's nice Portland - not too big, lots of historic buildings, enough to see and do for a few days.

Could get used to this...
