Doubling
Gone were those days of old, when people watched in awe - photographs of same person in doubles - sometimes shaking hands etc. Back then, customers booked their photos to be reproduced in doubles. Their demands were fulfilled in chemical darkrooms, with utmost care, by manipulating the images from the negatives with light and multiple exposures on half covered light sensitive photo papers.
By now, in the digital photography armed with the digital darkroom (computers and photo editing software), such tasks were made much easier. And things have come to such an extent that these special effects have become a routine affair and taken for granted - that genuine group photographs of identical twins are viewed by most as digitally manipulated doubles!
The said case happened today at the photo printing lab. where a group portrait of a identical twin (two girls) was printed and most of the people around there hotly debated over the issue.
Note : The portrait used as an illustration here is that of Talabi, Bapin's wife, taken in her college compound where we're covering a two-day function.
