opening day

Here it is the ides of April - better known as tax day in the US (but since April 15th fell on a weekend this year we have been given until Tuesday April 17 to file our taxes - go figure, literally!)
All that to say, I think this is the earliest I have ever seen an iris bloom here in the Rockies. And from the looks of the tender, not quite unfurled, petals I think today was the day it opened!
