Brighton

Another wonderful day! The children were up and about pretty early, so we got them stuck in to painting Easter Eggs. They did a dozen between them, as well as a huge selection of hand prints, paint mixing and lots of painting of arms, hands, faces.

We then packed them all up again and headed on a train, this time south to Brighton - to meet the Jumpingbeans!! The girls slept on the train again, snuggled up. They woke up just as we were about to meet Jeni, Steve and boys but did rather well at waking up happily.

We walked to find somewhere to eat and came across a really yummy buffet restaurant, and were put in a kind of separate area, which the children rather claimed as their own. Shyness lasted barely anytime, before they were all playing boo, running for cuddles, trading seats to try sit with each other. Some eating even happened.

We headed then down to the beach and the children (and daddies) spent a happy time throwing rocks and pebbles into the water. Katie, of course, was the one to run into the water. Several times. Fresh doughnuts followed, and some running along the beach, before Lyra declared it time for ice cream, which her friends all agreed with. They spent a long time dancing to the most bizaare but amusing busker, after which they went back for more stone throwing - and a second trip into the sea for Katie.

We walked along the foreshore, stopping at a little children's ride they all requested to go on. Katie wouldnt get on it at all. One childs fare refunded. Ben got on then immediately got off. Second childs fare refunded. The other two got on, it set off, and yep, neither liked it! Epic Fail was the declaration about the ride. We walked further along and they did more running around, climbed a big stone doughnut looking thing, before it was time to head back through town to the station.

It was so fab to meet the Jumpingbean family, and all the children had a wonderful time. Katie loved meeting Ben (and Charley), and I loved meeting Jeni and Steve, thanks guys!
