Flashback
We are up for a visit to my Dad who is just about to complete a five month stretch in hospital. So, between visits, I took Mrs W and the kids to Wemyss Bay station which has much of the old fashioned charm of a steam driven railway.
It has retained much of its original heritage and I actually got an overwhelming feeling of happiness from a flashback to childhood when I saw the curved slope down to the ferry terminal on the pier. I have no clear memories to fall back on but remember that walk down towards the ferry to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute where we had a couple of childhood holidays.
It is a beautiful station indeed and I am glad we dropped by. Unbelievable to think that it is but one station down the line from my Dad's place.
