Eaton Socon Cage

This curious building is one that I pass weekly when taking my son to his Tumble Tots session in St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

An inscription on the wall states,

THIS ANCIENT LOCK-UP WAS BUILT IN 1826 FOR THE CONFINEMENT OF LOCAL MALEFACTORS.

RESTORED IN 1963, IT IS NOW IN THE CARE OF THE BEDFORDSHIRE AND HUNTINGDONSHIRE NATURALISTS TRUST.
