La Tour de Goa
Today I did a lazy walk if a two hour walk in the mountains can ever be called lazy. I got Mrs TT to drive me up the Col de Jou and I walked back. On the map this is a short, sharp ascent, a ridge walk and then a sharp descent back to the house. However, there are more ups and down than you would imagine and given the temperature, it was more tiring than I expected. I did pass the Tour de Goa. The tower is on a small rocky plateau along a ridge. It forms part of the signalling system of the kings of Majorca who ruled this area. It was originally built in the 13th century and is at an altitude of 1268 metres. Ihave put some more photos taken from the ridge here.
