Sunday: Hidden Gems
We had a relatively free day today so took the opportunity to drive out from Split to a beautiful little town called Trogir. Another beautiful walled city, breathing history in every corner. I particularly loved this balcony when we stumbled across it.
We took a very scenic drive back, avoiding the main roads, but following a tiny coast road. The scenery here is so stunning - someone remind me that I am here to work?
In the evening, my Croatian colleague was telling me over dinner that she learnt most of her English from Simon and Garfunkel songs while she was growing up in the fomer Yugoslavia in the early 1970s. All well and good, but she spent years thinking that: 'Hello Darkness, my old friend' was a perfectly valid greeting!
