Bridge

I used to hate the Skye Bridge.

I don't hate it quite so much now that the Scottish Government has cancelled the tolls.

So many of my friends have been fined for not paying, including Arthur Cormack. I remember Arthur telling me that to save time, he used the phone the police before he left Inverness, so that they would be waiting for him at the Bridge. Even so, they decided to make an example of him, and make him stay in jail in Portree for the night. There was quite a protest about that, I remember.

"Over the Sea to Skye" isn't quite the same anymore.....
