Slow Annoying Day

The project is _still_ ongoing....just never seem to get any good traction on it.

Today started at about 1030am with the extra decking sheet I needed from the store.

Dog has been messing around lately - I've noticed that it hates being 'hot' and refuses to restart if it's been standing for 30 minutes. Rear tyre was going down again, the deflation is getting faster - when I first had Dog it was about 7-9 days before it needed pumping up, now it's every other day, which is becoming a pain. Not paying for a new tyre when a) they cost so much b) Dog doesn't need a tyre that will last tens of thousands of miles - just something to get me round town.

So popped into the s/h tyre place on the way back from the store. And would you believe it - first time in 3 weeks they have the tyre at the other location in town. Put the tyres on reserve (they had a matching pair for $20 each fitted!)

Got back to the house and started laying decking out. It's painted white because it's latex coat which if the ceiling does develop a leak in the future might give the decking a couple of years more life. For $6 in paint it's a gamble I don't mind.

First couple of decks on the roof, and whilst I'm drilling pilot holes I break a drill bit. Grrr. Called it quits and had an early lunch, and then went and got the tyres fitted.

Trouble is that after a 15 mile jaunt Dog will refuse to start after the fitting - which it did. Worse than normal for restarting.

It was 245pm before I got back on site and finally got to putting the decking down. At 515pm I broke yet another drill bit.

So much for getting the job finished today.
