Post box in Eton

Todays job was to search out and photograph post boxes in Berkshire of which this is one of the oldest in the country, being brought into use in 1856.

Once again I had no map references for where I might find them, just a case of wandering around and asking people until I found what I was looking for.

It turned out to be a delightful experience. I met and chatted to lots of people who are incredibly fond of post boxes, one woman Lesley, even insisted on driving me to a blue post box she knew (for sending airmail).

Very sad to think they may become a thing of the past as email takes over.

Bring back the art of letter writing I say!
