The heart of a Landy
This engine came from the frame of the Landy I photographed a few days ago, behind it lies the gearbox and clutch systems, you can see the gear change lever, in fact in the background there are the front wheels of this ghost of a Landy. As I arrived to take these pictures crisp tenners were being exchanged for the remaining panels from the machine. The guy who bought them told me he had 7 and a half Landrovers at home in a field. His wife thinks he has a couple, which he just buys bits for every now and again. I like his style. :-))
On the departing machine was another 'Landyism.'
"You can go fast - I can go anywhere." It's true, I've seen a landy extract the very latest all singing all dancing 4 x 4 vehicles from awful mud then simply drive on through what held them up. In the right hands it's a great tool.
