tryin' to get to heaven

running around like a headless chicken

Thismorning while waiting for the sun to rise (around 07:30 at the moment which is very civilised) I caught sight of the moon on its way down. Just past full and very beautiful. When the sun rose, it pinked up two squadrons of flamingos on the other side of the lagoon.

Today is a muddling sort of day when I am trying to sort out lots of different little things all at the same time. Lourdes keeps adding to my list but also bringing more and more edibles across. I now have some lovely new potatoes and more broccoli than I can manage as well as a couple more chourico because I said how much I enjoyed the first ones.

Meanwhile, I have been trying to track down the reference number of the paint that we used the best part of 8 years ago (that meant a trip to Olhao), choose another colour to highlight the pilastres and find out if the sofa shop factory is able to replace the sofa cushion covers. Add in a new DVD player and some electrical adjustments because the tv/dvd combi has crashed, replacement shower curtain hooks, a bit of planting, some tractor work and a few other things en route and the day feels like an out of control muddle.

But the sun is shining, the tide is in and whenever I have a chance to look, the view is very beautiful. And as I write, I am listening to the incomparable harmonies of the Everly Brothers. Oh to be able to sing like that!
