Village

My apologies for the GREY picture. There was a power outage in the next building and ours went out too. Not sure what happened to my pic though.

Spectacular day today. Breakfast was a little iffy (my first try at horse meat noodles they were OK), but we hired a motorised scooter and went out for a ride around the area of Yangshuo. We did a few of the touristy sites and had a bit of fun. There was an 'ancient' Totem walk through a remake of a Stone Age village which was set at an old site. The locals dressed in their best caveman outfits sang songs and prayed to the ancient Gods. There was a show at the end where there was fire eating and walking barefoot on broken glass.. Not sure they had beer bottles in caveman times. After that we went to a local limestone cave which was pretty good. It's always hard to get good pics in those places.

We decided to get some lunch and Terri was on lookout (while I watched the road) for a restaurant. She spotted one and so we pulled it. We didn't have time to even stop out the front when she started shrieking. Apparently it was a cat and rat restaurant. I was all for it, but she wouldn't go in. We spotted a sign for a 'village' on an off road and so we took that road to see what we could see. there was a small out of the way village and we had stewed chicken. It was reallly nice. When I say it was a village, it was just a very small town. No straw huts or anything like that.. We sat around a small fire the family was using to warm themselves and they offered us sunflower and watermelon seeds. A GREAT experience.

That's where the blip for today is from.

We were both tired so we had an early night.
