Cormorants

Once again, my apologies for the GREY picture of two days ago. There was a power outage in the next building and ours went out too. Not sure what happened to my pic though. I wasn't too sure about the power last night either, so yesterday's blip is a backblip. I think it's worth a peek though.

Today we went to a small town about an hour away from Yangshuo so we could go bamboo rafting on the Li River. Breakfast was awesome at a little Muslim restaurant near the bus station. We'll be back there tomorrow before we bus it back to Guilin.

As we got on the bus, a lady started gabbering to Terri about what we could do. We met a very nice couple from Chile and the four of us went on the boat together. This is supposed to be the most beautiful part of China. The weather wasn't the best but we made the most of it and got some nice pics. Along the way, we stopped off so the locals could sell us stuff (and probably give the boat driver a commission. This lady was selling pictures of the cormorants. For 10 yuan, she would sit her pole on your shoulders, give you a local fisherman's hat to wear and take your picture. We declined on that, but while she was waiting for new customers, I took a quick Blip.

When the boat ride finished, we searched for a place to eat and found an amazing little restaurant/hostel for lunch.

A bus ride back to Yangshuo and a rest before heading out to walk around. Up earlyish tomorrow to go back to Guilin and then to the famous Dragon's Back Rice Terraces. Hopefully the weather will be sunny and we can get some nice pics there.
