Orientation-Day at UNAM
Today I attended the orientation-programm for international students at my university and it was...let's say....long.
First of all I want to say that this part was by far better organized at ODTÜ, so cheers to Ankara ;)
And once again I had to realize that people cannot resist to travel around in groups according to their nationalities, what is it with that? Also the university divided us by nationality for the tour around the campus...no me entra la cabeza.
The nice part was after the official programm, when I went out to have some food with a few Mexican and Austrian students, where I actually got some useful information ;-) The food you can see on the picture is called "Enchiladas de mole negro" and it was superb!
Also I had to realize again how priviledged I am because I can easily afford to live near the campus, because my Mexican friends live in the outskirts of the city and mostly with their parents because they cannot afford to live anywhere inside the city. And now imagine someone who has to travel around the city for 2 hours to get to his work and 2 or more hours back every single day just in order to survive...
Another annoying thing I found out today was that out of the sudden they really expect me to have bought a visa in Germany...that might be an interesting issue to solve...let's see. To have that visa is totally unnecessary, because with my tourist visa I can just stay as long and it is for FREE. I hope I won't encounter too many problems trying to fix this...
Today was kind of an intense and hard day, but I did not feel alone, because I carry you along in my heart at all times...kisses to my dear friends and family! :)
And this is the song I listened to today on my way to university:
