Comfort food!

It was a cold, wet morning and I felt in the mood for a spot of baking. I haven't made ginger biscuits recently, the recipe is from my old neighbour and it's a very good one. The rock buns are curtesy of John Tovey from Miller Howe and they are really nice, full of walnuts, cherries and dates. Sometimes it just feels right to bake, the warm comforting smells are a bonus.
Went to the cinema last night but Mike wouldn't see War Horse as he thought there might be some distressing scenes, looks like I'll have to see that by myself! Instead saw The Iron Lady, had it's distressing moments I thought! A magnificent performance by Meryl Streep but as a film it didn't tick all the boxes for me.
Spent the afternoon with some visiting family members so able to sample the baking. Still pretty cold and rather grey so decided to Blip early and do a bit of piano practice.
