Helping Hands, Part 2

In all of the excitement over men in kilts, I forgot to mention that I was the winning bidder on an item in the silent auction at the MacGregor family fundraising event on Sunday.

These are just four of 24 handmade cards, in several sizes, that were tucked into a bright red box on the silent auction table. Made by Aspen and Sage, savvy young entrepreneurs with their own Facebook page and gmail account, they were irresistible.

I liked the whimsey and simplicity of the images, and wondered if Aspen and Sage were perhaps friends of the MacGregor daughters. In any case, they made a generous donation of their artwork to the silent auction, and now their cards will go out to my friends and family, furthering brightening folks' days.

Speaking of brightening days, we certainly were lucky with the weather yesterday for our get-together with Evergreengirl and her husband! Today has been the exact opposite, with high winds and rain. The only sunny sight here was this -- and I had to move them from the dining table to the sliding glass doors by the deck in order to have enough light to photograph them.
