These are some hand-sewn slippers we were given as a "welcome" gift for Charley. I think they are ever so cute! I'd love for him to actually wear them. Soon.
Pretty pleased about this photo. It's straight out of the camera again, except this time it's exactly what I was aiming for rather than yesterday's accidental white-balance giving me my challenge blip. Pretty red starburst bokeh in the background, and flash-lit slippers. Given the camera's own flash is my only realistic lighting source for something like this I'm pretty pleased at the result!
We found the culprit for Charley's unsettledness today. He and I both have ear infections and inflamed ear canals. Explains my dizziness and his extreme crankiness and the startle reflex which is currently in overdrive. So we're to keep up the liquid intake, keep dosed up on painkillers as necessary, and keep the temperatures down. Charley spent last night in just a nappy, skin to skin with me, crying when he woke and settling with milk and cuddles. He was not a happy little bear but the calpol helped. He was still not a happy little bear this morning so I gave him another dose of calpol. The GP said to keep that up. GP recognised me... he thinks from the antenatal ward at the hospital, and as familiar as he seems I'm now racking my brains to try and place him! It's driving me nuts!!
Ben has been away at Hayley's all day and will be back shortly. I'm so grateful to her for looking after him. I've needed that bit of respite, and being able to take Charley on his own to the doctors was so needed. Hopefully my fuse might have lengthened a little! Must remember to have a drink and some paracetamol in preparation for him coming home ;0)
I asked Ben this morning (after checking with Hayley) if he wanted to go and see Hayley today. He said yes and we got on with the morning. Later on he came up to me and told me quite matter-of-factly that he had to go to Hayley's, today mummy, and that Charley and I were to stay here and we would be ok mummy.
When I'm not at the end of my tether he really is quite disconcertingly charmingly sweet!
