Clifford's Tower, York

A grey and chilly start to an unpromising looking day ahead. When in doubt head for York! Within minutes of arriving I was passing the Office shoe shop, well not exactly passing as they had a sale on. Found a lovely pair of shoes sitting there waiting for me, just one pair, my size, bliss! Great start.
The last time I was in York, there wasn't time to visit the Castle museum so that's where we headed shoe bag in hand. The museum is situated close to Clifford's Tower which I have mentioned before. Lowry has a delightful little painting of it in York Art Gallery. The museum is very well laid out as streets and shops with sound and lighting effects. Must go back later in the Spring as it is undergoing some re-modelling which should be finished by then.
Had lunch in a nearby small cafe which was a little time warp and none the worse for that!
So the day was helped along by a few bright spots, not the weather though which remained grey and turned to rain later in the afternoon. The next bright spot coming up, The Dog & Gun (it being Friday) and a glass of red on the side. Have a good weekend everyone whatever the weather.
