Stanford U

This morning we got up early and headed to Palo Alto for the Palo Alto Winter Turf 2012 Tournament. The first game was in Redwood City, so Liam and Landon enjoyed playing at the park on the lake for a while when it was warm-up time for Loren and the team. The first game ended with a 1-2 loss. The boys hung their heads a bit and then most of us were off to find our hotels for check-in.

Once we found our hotel and got our room, the boys just kind of wanted to hang out and relax in front of the TV....go figure! So I headed out in the van in search of a Thai restaurant for take out pad thai. You can imagine how ridiculous I felt in my van when I ended up driving just across the street to a thai restaurant since I saw the place after I was already on the busy street. I felt so silly driving there that I was really tempted to drive around the block when I left so I wasn't caught getting in a vehicle just to drive across one road. haha

The boys gobbled up their food (and my mom maybe a few tablespoons since having surgery) and then we headed out to game number 2 at Palo Alto High School (directly across from Stanford University). The 3 boys took a pic at Stanford and picked up a pennant to donate to their elementary school that collects college pennants in their multi-purpose room. Almost got lost at Stanford and so surprised such a huge university didn't have a big sign for the boys to stand with for a pic.

Game number 2 was at 8pm and was a scary one. Our poor boys lost 0-5. The other team played the most amazing passing game I've seen and were an all-around great team. Our boys were a bit upset yet again....after having just won the State Cup I think the losses came as a shock to them. They ended the day hoping for a better one tomorrow. Heading back to the room so late I was ready for bed, but they weren't! They stayed up watching Batman: The Dark Knight before drifting off to sleep....all 3 of them in one king sized bed.
