This Smells Like Teen Spirit. I had been pouring over a grunge book in town the other day and got the idea for this shot. Kurt and Courtney.

Trying to get my girl to look like she was in love with her brother was a hard thing to do. Trying to get her brother to stop looking so 'gangsta' and try opening his eyes in a drug induced haze was even more taxing. Add to that the limitations of night time lighting, all the shadows that fall and the fact that I can only hold so many lights between my knees whilst holding the off camera flash which still doesn't have automatic flash and needs me to press the two buttons after 1...2...3......

But still, this was the most fun I have had taking an image in some time. I did a bit of processing with my limited resources to try to give it a bit of an edge. I know the light is harsh on my girl's face, I was trying to achieve that washed out effect. I'm happy with it.

In other news today; at the local hardware megastore we bought the last roll of roofing felt for the shed, but alas they had run out of roofing tacks so I couldn't fix the roof. I did however enjoy making volcanic eruptions in the upstairs sink in order to try to unblock the blasted thing. I will attack it again tomorrow - partly for fun this time.
