Is it really only the 7th of January? No wonder Pilot were sick and tired of it hanging around. I won't link to such a cheesy song as you will all be singing it now in your heads anyway.

Had a lovely walk in the Botanics. Over 45 trees fallen down in the last week. So much of it was closed off. Chopped up trees and sawdust was everywhere. Of the glass houses, only one was open, the rest storm damaged.

I think THIS was my best image of the day, but I just can't resist the out of season colour the orchid provides. It goes against all my principles of seasonality, but obviously my mind is in another place.

It was lovely to walk through the gardens without a child, or a pram, or a gaggle or toddlers. We couldn't remember who fell in the duck pond. Not one of ours, but perhaps Tomas - he is always up for living dangerously.
