Middleton Lakes Nature Reserve

I finally donned my new wellies and took a walk by the wetlands at Middleton Lakes.The RSPB took over a 400 acre site of an old gravel quarry just a few years ago and has preserved it as a nature reserve full of wild birds. It's only a few miles from where i live but i have never been here before and i think it's definitely well worth a return visit one day. The wellies really came into their own as the paths were extremely muddy, but i took great delight in splodging through the many puddles :-)
