On the way

We've beaten a retreat out of Edinburgh for a few days.

More details of where our bolt hole is to come, but suffice it to say that the rainy and windy journey here brought us up the A9, encompassing coffee and cake in that rather unprepossessing spot which is Aviemore, followed by a rather sunnier and drier (but no less windy) trip round the back of Cairngorm and across the flat arable lands of North Aberdeenshire to our destination, where we were greeted by a rainstorm of not quite biblical proportions.

Luckily there is an off licence around the corner. We came unprepared.
