Christmas Devils
In Mexico, there is a long tradition of The PASTORELA, which is like a cross between Pantomime & a Nativity play. It can describe a meeting between Mexican peasants and various devils, archangels and the baby Jesus for good measure too.
It is very raucous, bawdy & irreverent, and I am reliably informed, that it is rammed fuller of double entendres than even the most hardcore Carry On movie. Of course, 99% of this was lost on this particular, linguistically challenged Guero, but a lot of the jokes didn't leave too much to the imagination at all.
The show ends w/an audience & cast procession to a grotto to sing some hymns and to draw lots for piñatas. 1 digit away from winning one - damn!
A fine night spent in the company of Sandra and her parents.
Though, we did learn a tough lesson in dog-love, which is not to feed them just before you go to bed. Especially, when you're trying to get to sleep, knowing the max you will get is 5 hours. Needless to say I got much less thanks to the hyper-active little &*^&$!
