The Spirit Of Christmas
Just before the scene above played out, myself and Sandra had been chatting w/another dogwalker (from Belgium, of course), when behind us, a drunken reveller fell in slow-motion stages from her bike (the parked one in the photo) as she attempted to make the hugely-difficult transition from road to pavement!!
After, she was helped back to her feet and insisting that she was fine, she struggled back round to the rest of her over-indulged mates, who all carried on laughing and joking in quite a hyper-drunk fashion.
So, when I saw this scene from our balcony, I assumed the wee lass had hurt herself more seriously, than she 1st realised. But no, Sandra who was still downstairs, when the accident happened, said that it was another of her friends, who just collapsed and fell badly, either on his head or his teeth.
OUCH & Merry Christmas! Took me back to some of the silly, drunken scrapes I've been involved in over the years and how I'm glad those days are (mostly!) behind me. Still have all my own teeth too.
On another note, it was interesting to observe, how there are certain parts of the city where the police simply will not go, but if a drunk falls over in Polanco, 4 cop cars will be dispatched to cover the disturbance!!
