Bromley House
Bromley House is an independent library in Nottingham - the original Nottingham Subscription Library established in 1816 and situated since 1822 in a fine Georgian house now tucked away amongst the somewhat less than fine shops of Angel Row. A fabulous place with dusty lofts, comfy reading rooms and, of course, loads and loads of old books. I've been volunteering there on Thursday afternoons for a little while, helping to computerize the collection for posterity (pretty rock and roll, I know?!) I don't think this carpet counts officially as one of the interesting, well-preserved period features of the place, but hey?
