Chillis

All very festive in the Prime household today as the girls have fetched and decorated the tree. I just kept out of the way and tidied up afterwards.

I've been listening all week to the album 'Reserved', a compilation of early singles and stuff by the Servants. A little bit of indie heaven - this lot were on the C86 cassette but actually err more in the literate, rhythmic and, ahem, 'rock-y' direction of bands like the Loft or the Weather Prophets. That said, there's a nice air of worldweary, cynical distance to the vocals that recalls the Chills or even fellow antipodeans the Go-Betweens. The perfect environment, you might think, for Britpop's future misanthrope par excellence, Luke Haines to 'come up' in (though he only joined up later on.)
