The Scots are defiant in the face of the storm by giving it this derogatory nickname. It's trending on twitter defining our nation across the world, featuring on the Radio 4 PM programme with the erudite though gallus Eddie Mair and allowing us to fire an insult at it as long as it doesn't take it's wrath out on us.

The cat casually sauntered out of the catflap earlier allowing the winds and rain to blast in for 10 minutes until I worked out how the storm was actually getting in to our kitchen!!
