The Way to Glenorchy

This is one of my favourite views in New Zealand.

Driving up the road to Glenorchy you are meet with this outlook over Lake Wakatipu with Pig Island and Pigeon Island in front and the mountains crowning the top of the lake.

It was a wonderful day - the sun was shining, we sat in the Glenorchy Cafe out the back in the orchard garden with a lovely lunch and chatted the day away. My poor Scottish skin got a little bit too tinged...

A drive up to Paradise revealved the building of The Hobbit set (didn't know if it was appropraite to blip a photo of that...) and on the drive back we took a wee detour up to Moke Lake which is hidden way up in a valley. Another hidden gem that NZ seems to have in abundance.
