Knead Me?

Score!

Today I decided to allow the creative juices flow. I was making tomato soup from scratch for lunch and thought perhaps a loaf of "artisan bread" would be just the ticket to make with it.

I pulled out my bread machine cookbook and began leafing through the pages. I don't think I have used my bread machine in years. I really disliked that big hole in the bottom of the loaves where the paddle was placed. But I digress....

I discovered long ago that any bread the bread machine can make, I can, too! I finally came to the section on shaped loaves that one bakes in the oven, only using the machine to knead the bread and proof it. I decided on Carmelized Onion Bread. Mmmmmm.....

I followed the instructions and although I didn't have bread flour, I used all purpose flour. The loaf came out picture perfect AND it tastes delicious! I had been a bit skeptical when I began adding the onions to the dough....it became sticky and icky until I finally kneaded them all in.

Even if I never make another loaf of this bread, here it is...today's Blip, saying I did make it! Indeed!
