Marwick

You can just see the head of the Old Man of Hoy sticking up in the distance.
I was at The Loons bird hide. There were lots of birds about, especially snipe, which were so close to the hide that I couldn't open a window to photo them without scaring them off. A little chiffchaff was a late migrant in the willows by the hide. I walked to MarWick, and along to the Fishermans Huts. A hen harrier had caught a rat and a hooded crow tried to steal it. After coffee I headed back and up onto the clifftop. I was really surprised by another late migrant- a swift. Normally, the last one seen in Orkney would be late August of September.

Couple more shots here.
