Another day of contrasts
A morning of blue skies and lots of bling on our visit to the rather impressive Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, with a visit to the National Museum, Central Market and Wat Phnom Temple rounded off a busy morning sightseeing.
A somewhat sombre and thought provoking afternoon spent visiting the killing fields, the genocide museum and listening to our tours guide's own personal account of life as a child separated from his family under the Khmer Rouge regime, left all with heavy hearts.
However spirits were lifted with a sunset boat cruise on the Mekong River, a lovely end to a very busy day and an enjoyable stay in Phnom Penh.
