Spectacular sunset, Cape Point and the lighthouse

Cape Point is believed to be the southernmost point of the African continent, an accolade which is incorrect, as the title really belongs to Cape Agulhas, about 150km east of here.

That notwithstanding, this evening's sunset over the southern tip was another beaut - wonderful clouds, colours and a howling southeaster, which sadly you can't see in this shot. However, any softness and shake in this pic is entirely due to the wind battering the side of the house (I was upstairs shooting out of a bedroom window). According to the SA Weather Bureau, it's blowing at 55km/h at the lighthouse whose beam you can see very clearly.

Also clear is the cell phone mast which serves not only the Southern Peninsula, but delivers a (barely) usable EDGE signal to me (and lots of other subscribers) in Rooi Els, about 30km across False Bay.
