Boat

I'm not entirely sure what was going on here, I came into the room halfway through play but I think they were in a boat and the cushions were the boat. Or something like that. Anyway the cushions kept going overboard and Ben went overboard regularly trying to retrieve the cushions and bring them back on the boat....

Mum and Dad popped in to say hello and happy birthday to me and Ben on their way home from a long weekend in France with my brother and his wifey, they had a few hours with us and lunch which was lovely! Ben was delighted to see them and I think because they didn't stay for so long he wasn't utterly distraught when they had to leave and happily came outside with his new binoculars and waved them off down the road.

About half an hour after they'd gone he was curled up in my lap fast asleep!!! Exhausted from playing with his grandparents :D

So now it's back to some semblance of normality. Steve is home and back at work, all the relatives have gone home. Ok so it's half term and none of our usual weekly activities are on but to be honest I'm so tired I doubt if I'd be making it out to any of them anyway.

Once Ben woke up he was a proper grump. He'd barely eaten anything for lunch so was reeeeally hungry and he confuses hunger and tiredness (I do too I guess) but thankfully Steve was home by then and spent a lovely half hour having cuddles on the floor watching something on TV while I made our staple dinner of pasta and cheese sauce with bacon. Yum. Fills a hole and Ben eats loads of it. And we've managed to have enough different things in between this cheesy pasta that we're not sick to death of it. And it's the only thing my brain can cope with making at the moment which is useful!

I went to bed before anyone else. Shattered. Could barely keep my eyes open. Ben and Steve followed shortly but then we decided Ben really needed his toenails clipping so a traumatic 20 minutes was spent with me cuddling Ben while Steve clipped his nails - they still need filing a bit as I'm still getting scratched all over my legs! And typically after that, I was the last to actually go to sleep as I by then there was little point in sleeping as I needed to get up again anyway for insulin.

So I headed downstairs to re-fill my bag with needles, and discovered the kitchen in a state so cleared that all away too while I was there....

Good sleep though once I was finally in bed again!!!
